Sussex Bakehouse
Sussex Bakehouse began with two people who loved being in the kitchen. James and Sophie met while working in catering, discovered how well they worked together and eventually left their day jobs to build their own independent bakery. Today they make cakes and treats by hand from their professional kitchen in Peacehaven. Their experience spans restaurant pastry, hotel kitchens and a French chalet kitchen, where daily visits to local bakeries deepened their love of baking. Celebration cakes, wedding centrepieces and smaller sweet treats all reflect that shared background. Each private order is discussed with the customer, combining personal ideas with the pair’s detailed cake-making skills.
