At 44 Poets, coffee is the focus, from carefully prepared espresso in the Hove café to speciality beans roasted in Sussex and sold to take home. The café also serves pastries, homemade cakes and soft drinks from local suppliers. Its approach puts care into each stage, with experienced staff, quality equipment and procedures designed to keep espresso consistent. The team opened in Poet’s Corner in 2018, bringing a Melbourne-style community café to Rutland Road. In 2020, they began co-roasting with Sussex business Craft House Coffee. Today, 44 Poets combines its neighbourhood café with a coffee-roasting and retail operation, inviting customers in for a brew or to choose beans for home.
