Camilla’s is a large secondhand and antiquarian bookshop on Grove Road, a short walk from Eastbourne station. Run by proprietors Camilla Francombe and Stuart Broad, it has more than a million books in stock, with some listed online and specialities spanning armed services, transport, travel literature, history, music, art, religion, sport, poetry and modern first editions. The pleasure here is the chance to browse widely, follow an unexpected title and find something beyond a planned search. The shop buys books and can ship consignments worldwide. Visit on a Tuesday or Friday and Archie the parrot is also in residence, bringing a little extra character to this book-filled Eastbourne shop.
